Özet

In this study, the antibacterial and antifungal activities of Cirsium hypoleucum DC., Carduus acanthoides L., C.nutans L., Cichorium intybus L., Tussilago farfara L. (Asteraceae), Fumaria asepalae Boiss., F.vailantii Lois., F.densiflora DC. (Fumariaceae), Hypericum scabrum L., H.perforatum L. (Hypericaceae), Plantago lanceolata L. (Plantaginaceae) were investigated. The microbial effects of these plants were tested by agar diffusion and micro dilution methods using Escherichia coli ATCC 25922, Proteus mirabilis ATCC 7002, Enterococcus faecalis ATCC 29212, Acinetobacter baumanni ATCC 17904, Pseudomonas aeruginosa ATCC 27853, Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 25923, Streptococcus pneumonia ATCC 49619, Candida albicans ATCC 10231, Candida kruzei ATCC 6258, Candida parapsilosis ATCC 22019. All the plant extracts except P. lanceolata were determined to have antibacterial effects against only Ps. aeruginosa ATCC 27853. Such studies can highlight new agents for the therapy choices.
