Özet

Background: Urbanisation is undergoing a significant transformation, driven by rapid population shifts towards urban centres. This expansion places increasing pressure on urban infrastructure, particularly in large cities, and raises questions about the efficiency of existing systems. As a result, restructuring urban logistics has become imperative. Traditional logistics models are increasingly inadequate for addressing growing traffic congestion, environmental impacts, rising energy consumption, and diversified service demands. In response, sustainable city logistics (SCL) has emerged as a comprehensive framework that integrates economic efficiency, environmental stewardship, and urban liveability. SCL leverages innovative logistics practices and advanced information and communication technologies to create smarter, faster, and less polluting urban transportation systems. Core components include electric vehicles, micro distribution centres, and delivery systems driven by real-time data and temporal optimisation. Methods: This study employs bibliometric analysis to systematically examine the scientific output on SCL. Bibliometric techniques allow quantitative assessment of the structure, development, and conceptual landscape of a research field. The Web of Science (WoS) and Scopus databases were selected for their reliability and comprehensive coverage. Relevant publications were identified using predefined keywords and screened according to specific inclusion criteria. The final dataset was analysed using indicators such as publication type, year of publication, citation counts, and subject classifications. These metrics provide insight into the scope of academic production and help identify dominant themes, trends, and potential research gaps within the SCL literature. Results: The findings indicate a marked acceleration in SCL-related research, particularly since 2019. The most frequently recurring keywords include vehicle routing, e-commerce, last-mile delivery, crowd logistics, electric vehicles, carbon emissions, logistics hubs, optimisation, and software technologies. These terms constitute the core vocabulary of the SCL literature. Conclusions: As a rapidly developing research area, SCL presents substantial opportunities to enrich academic discourse and support the creation of sustainable, innovative, and practical urban logistics solutions. Scholars, industry practitioners, and policymakers should incorporate current SCL trends into strategic decision-making to enhance urban liveability and advance global sustainability goals.
