Özet

In this study, conductive type gas sensors were prepared by preparing additive-free Silicon (Si) nanorods (NRs) via physical exfoliation of 1 μm diameter and 99.99 % purity Si microparticles. The detection performance of the Si NRs based gas sensors for NO₂ and NH₃ gases was investigated at room temperature. Si NRs based gas sensors detected nitrogen dioxide (NO₂) gas with a sensitivity of 0.12 ppm−1 and a response time of ∼28 s, and the limit of detection (LOD) of the sensors was 0.3 ppm. Si NRs based gas sensors detected ammonia (NH₃) gas with a sensitivity of 0.09 ppm−1 and a response time of ∼35 s, and the LOD of the sensors was 0.5 ppm. Si NRs based gas sensors showed high repeatability with less than 5 % drift over 5 cycles, and the response change remained below 7 % in one week of testing. These results demonstrate that Si NRs gas sensors can rapidly detect NO₂ and NH₃ gases with high sensitivity, while also demonstrating high sensor stability and repeatability. Si NRs, prepared through physical exfoliation without any chemical modification or doping, have found application in gas sensor technology, enabling the production of gas sensors capable of high-performance NO₂ and NH₃ detection.
