Thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura is a serious, highly mortal disease that goes with pregnancy. The diagnosis may be difficult due to similar symptoms to other pregnancy-related diseases. Treatment of the patient differs with the clinic. Plasmapheresis continued with fresh-frozen plasma infusion may be a good choice. © 2007 Lippincott Williams & Wilkins, Inc.
